Were Vulcans Attempting to Be Psychopaths?

Leonard Nimoy as Spock, a Human/Vulcan hybrid, demonstrating the Vulcan salute
It was when I was reading the Psychopath article by Kevin Dutton in a Scientific American magazine something about the development of the ideal psychopath had me looking for comparisons. Although fictional,  the Vulcan culture made sense to me because there were things that stood out to which had me scratching my head.

In about the 4th century CE, Vulcans emerged from their violent tendencies and civil wars under a philosopher named Surak, who advocated the suppressing of emotion in favor of logic.

October 2012

Trolleyology: A railway trolley is hurtling down a track. In its path are five people who are trapped on the line and cannot escape. Fortunately, you can flip a switch that will divert the trolley down a fork in the track away from the five people—but at a price. There is another person trapped down that fork, and the trolley will kill him or her instead. Should you hit the switch? What Psychopaths Teach Us about How to Succeed

The experimental example when taken further serves to help one understand that if a moral dilemma becomes a choice,  then how would a psychopath make it? This becomes interesting,  in that the suppression of emotion,  is not the idea behind "such choices"  for a psychopath so it would seem.  In the case of the Vulcan's,  this was not the case. The Vulcan's brain scans would have shown activity when the emotions were involved in their moral dilemmas, yet,  they would have wanted to extinguish that primitiveness from their historical civil uprisings depicted with regard to their success as a race.

So yes,  you can see and understand this is a fictional comparative example of the process of moral dilemmas. So this is to show that with reason and logic we would have wanted to perform most appropriately. There is no doubt that such a success in the choice of "pushing the fat man over the bridge" could have saved five lives. The psychopath,  would not have had to think about it,  and their brain scan would show such absences of the emotive part of our expressions. Especially with those destined to be human and alive. So in my view we should not disregard the emotive quality of our being toward such success with regard to reason and logic. Hold high, the need for this Emotional absence.

So while cognoscente of the way in which psychopath characteristics are useful in the world of CEO's  it is most intriguing that such a design in our culture wold have spawned such architects of the human experience. Such fictional stories of the Vulcan's to have succeeded in such a humanistic destined as the most apropos human construct that we can find?

This is what I found most disturbing. That it  is to think,  for humanistic trials and recognition of this emotive facet by design was and is held by most with regard to such primitive standards?  This is not what I  had hope society would have seemed to required for success?

Universal Resurrection?

It might sound metaphysical and ominous with the idea that such a rebirth could have become the idea of a reincarnation with all that it could entail in information that is existing for the next round of universal expressions. So no,  information is never lost :-) Shall we for ever tassel for the Chicken and Egg question or accept cosmologically that the universe is as if the chick and no further questions asked?:)

Maybe you are a good practicing Catholic for what is coming with Easter?? I would never judge any individual for what their religious belief is. But yes,  I do believe that such rebirths are part of the process for our improvement, how ever such views allow us to the see the world,  it is in these new ways.  It is,  as if even our own view is an example of the world in which we will see,  as to how we are at the center of our own expressions. Not intentionally being self centered, but administrating that such births take place even within us. But that's just my point of view.

So anyway onto the scientific explanation as I see it.

Penrose's Conformal Cyclic Cosmology, from one of his Pittsburgh lecture slides in June, 2009. Photo by Bryan W. Roberts

Some things that came to mind are based on the idea of cyclic universe as supposed by Sir Roger Penrose. Questions outside the parameters of the cosmological universe allow for other points of view to emerge as one can surmise as not being blatantly unfair. That such a thing is as to consider "other universes" then, could become possible.  I would like to present then that the idea of the current universe is as if counted as speeding up, something within our current universe is contributing. Sean Carroll was looking for that.

To maintain such a balance as Omega (If we triangulate Omega, the universe in which we are in, Omegam(mass)+ Omega(a vacuum), what position geometrically, would our universe hold from the coordinates given?),  then is to suggest that speeding up, has components that will help to incite a geometrical presence as to how such a universe is displayed? If so,  then at a "quantum level" such contributions are being classically displayed, while forcing views with regard toward  powers of ten as to suggest, there is a much wider view here then what you see in the everyday life.

That's just part of it. So it is with this video that you might find interesting. S James Gates demonstrates a measure of time in the sense that what was historically displayed by scientists of the last hundred years can emerge within as building a systemic picture and language development which is beautiful,  while being abstract worthy of considering. This is a good example of how ones view of the world can change from what we had as always looked at the world. You find such abstractness( math structure) but there is indeed a lesson in it.

Plinko and the Galton(quincunx) Board

See Plinko Probability 2.02 A working replica of the machine  (following a slightly modified design.)

There is this randomness that seems to take hold over my thoughts regarding probability. The thoughts question how we can even know with certainty when something is going end in a result.  To know this before hand.

In a way this is what drew me to outcomes  seen and expressed as scenarios given in context of Game theory in terms of negotiation.  I would like to give a little shout out to the work John Baez is doing in that regard.

Predicting economic events with some certainty(?) and here the questions of Nassim Taleb and the Black Swan raises its head again. Fractal Antennas. A lot of things have elevated the discussion for me as to wonder how we have graduated  to a degree to a level of perception that was not so obvious before.

Both the theorists and the experimentalists looked only at the pile of tokens that landed in a particular slot at the bottom of the Plinko board. While the experimentalists had a set of guidelines about how the tokens should have gotten there and excluded any tokens that didn’t follow the rules, the theorists didn’t care as much about that. They were primarily concerned with the mass of the initial particles, the mass of the final particles and the ratio between them.

When the initial massive particles decay into lighter ones, the total energy must be conserved. Sometimes this energy goes missing; if the missing energy adds up to a certain amount, it could mean that a supersymmetric particle carried it away without being detected.See:Keep it simple, SUSY

It also deals with Particle physics and collision processes as the link suggests at the bottom of this entry. So it seems we are getting some kind of hold on this probability and outcome in terms of what was a random act can now become specific and predictable.

If you get the opportunity to watch the latest show of Touch I thought it interesting,  as I see this fellow searching all over for a machine that is mechanical and not electronic,  to use for a project for Amelia.

What is capture in the picture here below is what made this interesting. While a fictional story,  Amelia is capable of being able to determine the randomness of a dropped ball,  even before the result is known. This kidnapping is somehow recognized as a necessary evil when taking Amelia. They want to teach another computer to be able track the neurons as she relays the pockets with which the balls drop as some underlying algorithmic process sequencing.

The idea for me while it is nice it is so plain that we could map such an abstract mind to have encompassed such probabilities. It is again with such forth sight that I came to such a vision as an  encompassing one, held above such statistics.  Natures way. If you must, a overlord position using the recognition of Powers of ten,  for as such a view is to contain,  all must contain such outcomes.

So this part of this post is not finished, as ideas will spring up as people and scientists talk about different things. For me,  it is about seeing these "abstract things" as viable entries into the recognizable as functions of our everyday lives.

TVO S James Gates on Does Reality have a Genetic Basis

from http://www.q2cfestival.com/play.php?l...

Lecture Series presented by KPMG - Does Reality Have a Genetic Basis?

The ultimate construction, as a basis for fundamental theoretical physics is an imperfectly understood structure called "M-Theory" or "Superstring/M-Theory" (SSMT). In a quest to create a rigorous mathematical background for SSMT, new mathematical structures called "Adinkras" have been proposed as the appropriate objects to study. This study has led to the possibility that there exist a "DNA of Reality" which will be presented in this talk.

Muon Tomography

The same nuclear reaction described above (i.e. hadron-hadron impacts to produce pion beams, which then quickly decay to muon beams over short distances) is used by particle physicists to produce muon beams, such as the beam used for the muon g − 2 experiment
Can you create relationships of Pierre Auger cosmic particle collision's energy toward the level of energy being producing as these values in LHC? How many cosmic events can be directly related? These hold value in correlations as perceptions of relevance for me when it comes to what happens at point sources. Can we consistently say that such point source of this energetic value produce all the time QGP emissions which provide for the place that faster then light entities are possibly created?

You must know I have had a long journey in terms of putting the pieces together and of course I find it interesting that we can make use of and see into nature in ways that we had not seen before. The understanding of reducible elements makes it necessary to understanding the natural processes going on around us. To understand this Tommaso Dorigo brings the imaging back for us all to look at and possibly make use of new ways in which to measure radiative metals in amongst a full load of metal materials in a dump truck.

He reminds us of what has been sitting in the open reawakens the process of seeing  this decay chain as a necessary in the use of technologies as an example of what happens around being us caught naturally. To me this is part of the tracking I have been doing so as to see further then we had seen before.

It is really important that while I see the environment around earth as playing an instrumental part of the back drop measure of what we see as Cerenkov,  to me it asked for the evidences of things that go "Faster then the Speed of light." I know the motto here, so it is not necessary to correct me on that issue.

Fig. 1: Cerenkov radiation involves the nearly continuous emission of photons by a charged particle moving faster than the speed of light in its vicinity. The charged particle gradually radiates away its energy. Cohen-Glashow emission involves the occasional creation, near a speeding neutrino, of an electron-positron pair, in which the neutrino loses a large fraction of its energy in one step.Is the OPERA Speedy Neutrino Experiment Self-Contradictory?

In such an environment of earth I find it appealing that this process is unfolding as we see the medium as allowing such transitions necessary as the after affect of the collision process that is taking place. So when the OPERA experiment results was announced,  I was of course interested in what they had to say. Suffice to say that such a thing as a loose wire did settle the issue once and for all.

Now of course it is important that where this collision process takes place with "the point in the environment with earth" such decimation reduced to decay change is necessarily seen. While we reproduce this naturally in our experimental processes we are also recording also in the AMS 02 outside our environment.

Blackholes

IN a vacuum the motto above about faster than light stands true here so it forces me to question that if such a case was possible then what says that what we see in the vent of information reliance toward blackhole emission would not show something in the nature of the universe that is connected that we do not understand? This then again may be a redundant factor for consideration while we wait for AMS 02 to reveal their results

Thus too,  it is of relevance that particle reductionism has taken us to that place where we wonder about the interconnectedness of the cosmos in ways that we did not understand before. It is important for this consideration to have such a point deliver the effect of QGP recognition that such traverses of particle decay as a relevant distribution point of all that we see here on earth. While it is dismissive that such emission would be quickly dispersive it is of natural consequence that we can see things here on earth such as muons as presented by Tommaso.

A black hole is an object so massive that even light cannot escape from it. This requires the idea of a gravitational mass for a photon, which then allows the calculation of an escape energy for an object of that mass. When the escape energy is equal to the photon energy, the implication is that the object is a "black hole".

No one knows what dark matter is, but it constitutes 80 percent of the matter in our universe. Density Parameter, Ω

You must understand that the subject in context of question has been answered to some degree. The arguments for such an idea has its basis in science discussion already. What started this was the idea of cosmic strings that were first discussed to some degree back in 2005 and confirmation reading as as to the idea of such things in the early universe. What happens in galaxy clusters versus baryon versus non baryon relations. While this is fresh in my mind in terms of how relevant this is,  is the failing connotation of a mind who reads a lot and has a hard time of putting it together in a cohesive statement being ready for such an answer to the opening question on this blog entry.

Critical Density for the Expanding Universe

The Sun lies about 8.5 kpc from the galactic center of the Milky Way galaxy, and the visible spiral arms and globular clusters extend out to about 15 kpc. Radio frequency methods should detect gas and dust past this radius, but not much is found. It was expected that the orbital velocity of that matter which is detected should diminish, but it stays more or less constant well beyond any significant detectable mass concentrations. The orbital velocity data clearly indicates the presence of gravitational mass, and the term "dark matter" is used to describe it.

We know as well that current questions about Dark Matter will be answered soon with AMS II? So I may find this article quickly redundant as to the question raised as some effort to what has been transposing in my own mind for some time. It is not a theory or something which I would claim as to providing some basis as to explaining the why of the omega of the universe,  but to further developed my undertaker at what lies at the edge of our current information.

Can a blackhole contain information and disperse it among the way in which our universe is forming and accelerating? These perceptions for me lie at what is happening in Di-Jet resonances as feasible explanations that are important toward the undertaking of what is happening in the universe.

At the same time again it is always in corrections that scientists will further explain that such an correlation may not be a good thing to consider here and is deceiving which is never my intent. As a student ever the examination of my thinking so as to provide a better understanding for sure.

In the above list I have excluded the case of quantum black holes (where the CMS limits are in the 4 to 5.3 TeV range and the ATLAS limits are in the 3.85-4.19 TeV range) because of the lack of a coincident set of assumptions in deriving the actual results, making it less meaningful to compare numbers. See: CMS Vs ATLAS On Dijet Resonances: Who Wins ?

You must know that the ideas that were forming in my head have directed my attention toward the reducible elemental considerations of particle physics and it's manifestation a energy configurations. The essence of which is pointing me toward the latest research CMS updates and the questions of Di jet resonances that Tommaso Dorigo is talking about.

Tommaso Dorigo: A transverse cut-away view of the CMS detector is shown below, with the different signals that arise from the interaction of different particles.

I have come to rely on those scientist who are closest to what is leading in terms of experiment so as to understand not only the issue about the universe, but of what is microscopically happening in our immediate environs in terms of cosmic particle collisions. This is always an ongoing educational update for me so as to get the corrections needed in developing the ideas as they manifest, whether they are right or wrong, are leading as to the edge of where we have gone with that science.

Virtual Photons Become Real in a Vacuum

Virtual Photons Become Real in a Vacuum

The zero-point energy stored in the modes of an electromagnetic cavity has experimentally detectable effects, giving rise to an attractive interaction between the opposite walls, the static Casimir effect. A dynamical version of this effect was predicted to occur when the vacuum energy is changed either by moving the walls of the cavity or by changing the index of refraction, resulting in the conversion of vacuum fluctuations into real photons. Here, we demonstrate the dynamical Casimir effect using a Josephson metamaterial embedded in a microwave cavity at 5.4 GHz. We modulate the effective length of the cavity by flux-biasing the metamaterial based on superconducting quantum interference devices (SQUIDs), which results in variation of a few percentage points in the speed of light. We extract the full 4 × 4 covariance matrix of the emitted microwave radiation, demonstrating that photons at frequencies symmetrical with respect to half of the modulation frequency are generated in pairs. At large detunings of the cavity from half of the modulation frequency, we find power spectra that clearly show the theoretically predicted hallmark of the Casimir effect: a bimodal, “sparrow-tail” structure. The observed substantial photon flux cannot be assigned to parametric amplification of thermal fluctuations; its creation is a direct consequence of the noncommutativity structure of quantum field theory. What Will AMS-02 Reveal?

23% of the matter/energy balance of the universe is the form of dark matter, mysterious type of particles 6 times more abundant than normal matter which shape gravitationally all galaxies and dominates the evolution of the visible universe.Alpha Magnetic Spectrometer

One would always be curious as to what motivations help to drive the expansionary process of the universe as it is unfolding. What events in the cosmos allow us to reveal constituents entities of such expansionary process as dark energy/matter particles? Well hopefully such driven place in the cosmos is revealing of such motivational  process.

Supernova Remnant W49B

Credits: X-ray: NASA/CXC/MIT/L.Lopez et al; Infrared: Palomar; Radio: NSF/NRAO/VLA

The highly distorted supernova remnant shown in this image may contain the most recent black hole formed in the Milky Way galaxy. The image combines X-rays from NASA's Chandra X-ray Observatory in blue and green, radio data from the NSF's Very Large Array in pink, and infrared data from Caltech's Palomar Observatory in yellow.

The remnant, called W49B, is about a thousand years old, as seen from Earth, and is at a distance about 26,000 light years away.

The supernova explosions that destroy massive stars are generally symmetrical, with the stellar material blasting away more or less evenly in all directions. However, in the W49B supernova, material near the poles of the doomed rotating star was ejected at a much higher speed than material emanating from its equator. Jets shooting away from the star's poles mainly shaped the supernova explosion and its aftermath.

By tracing the distribution and amounts of different elements in the stellar debris field, researchers were able to compare the Chandra data to theoretical models of how a star explodes. For example, they found iron in only half of the remnant while other elements such as sulfur and silicon were spread throughout. This matches predictions for an asymmetric explosion. Also, W49B is much more barrel-shaped than most other remnants in X-rays and several other wavelengths, pointing to an unusual demise for this star.......

A few might see a world of possibility in Persinger's theories. His booth has helped us discover and confirm our true predicament. "Seeing God" is really just a soothing euphemism for the fleeting awareness of ourselves alone in the universe: a look in that existential mirror. The "sensed presence" - now easily generated by a machine pumping our brains with electromagnetic spirituality - is nothing but our exquisite and singular self, at one with the true solitude of our condition, deeply anxious. History Displays Newton's Optics and Organic Chemistry?

The Errors & Animadversions of Honest Isaac Newton

by Sheldon Lee Glashow

ABSTRACT:

Isaac Newton was my childhood hero. Along with Albert Einstein, he one of the greatest scientists ever, but Newton was no saint. He used his position to defame his competitors and rarely credited his colleagues. His arguments were sometimes false and contrived, his data were often fudged, and he exaggerated the accuracy of his calculations. Furthermore, his many religious works (mostly unpublished) were nonsensical or mystical, revealing him to be a creationist at heart. My talk offers a sampling of Newton’s many transgressions, social, scientific and religious.

This is an entry in progress but if one has been following one may have asked indeed where did such a history begin to say that in today's world there is this emergence of the trades in combination. Theoretical Physics and Organic Chemistry.

You may be familiar with Isaac Newton from such inventions as calculus and the law of universal gravitation. What you may not know is that he was also an avid "chymist," or alchemist. In fact, Newton actually wrote roughly a million words about alchemy and his experiments with it — as Indiana University science historian William Newman has noted, Newton probably spent more time doing alchemy than he did on any of his other scientific pursuits. See: Incredible videos recreate Isaac Newton’s experiments with alchemy

Analysis of white light by dispersing it with a prism is an example of spectroscopy

So while looking at the future it is always interesting to see where such thought predate the thinking that cross pollination with regard to the science could have seen any benefit in looking at Spectroscopy. So you can see where I might have displayed an ancient idea suggested of alchemy as to the psychology as an end result of the complexity of simple formulation of the physics of things we did not see useful before.

It forces my thinking as to the assumptions that will eventually reveal the nature of our thoughts processes and evidences as existing in the idea of consciousnesses explained?

There is no doubt there is some relevance in my thinking that what may be termed spiritual may have some weight attached to how I think we may be held to our experiences. How the weight of our experiences could have affects as to what is perceivable outside the parameters of and circumference of our established lives.  On a classical level, the matter distinctions are apparent and anything beyond that as related too, quantum effects,  is a much more deeper request for new and measurable techniques to the psychology of our being and examination of what consciousness really is?

The Physics of Organic Chemistry

Download a Power Point Presentation about Hera (3.3 MB)

It is a hasty entry this morning so by all means this information will not be complete. Familiarity with using spectrographic  processes helps to align the thinking needed in the overview of dealing with the processes of organic chemistry. By no means do I have a complete view here,  but if you think possibly in a theoretical way can we  marry Organic Chemistry to what we call Theoretical Organic Chemistry?

You are not just looking at the stars anymore but have realigned your thinking to organic processes here on Earth.

Spectra are complex because each spectrum holds a wide variety of information. For instance, there are many different mechanisms by which an object, like a star, can produce light - or using the technical term for light, electromagnetic radiation. Each of these mechanisms has a characteristic spectrum. Let's look at a spectrum and examine each part of it. Introduction to Spectroscopy

Jim Al-Khalili and the Quantum Robin

We've known for some time that certain animals can navigate the Earth using it's magnetic fields, but the methods by which they do this have remained largely unknown. However, an emerging field known as quantum biology is shedding light on this area and suggests that nature maybe taking advantage of quantum mechanics to develop its biological compass systems.
Physicist Jim Al-Khalili looks at one bird in particular, the European Robin, and how this species of migratory bird may be relying on the strange rules of quantum entanglement to find its way south each year.
