Music of Hemispheres

Hearing Colors, Tasting Shapes By Vilayanur S. Ramachandran and Edward M. Hubbard

Modern scientists have known about synesthesia since 1880, when Francis Galton, a cousin of Charles Darwin, published a paper in Nature on the phenomenon. But most have brushed it aside as fakery, an artifact of drug use (LSD and mescaline can produce similar effects) or a mere curiosity. About four years ago, however, we and others began to uncover brain processes that could account for synesthesia. Along the way, we also found new clues to some of the most mysterious aspects of the human mind, such as the emergence of abstract thought, metaphor and perhaps even language.
See here.

Who would have thought to present such an "overlapping of the senses," to think, that our life is much better defined in all that we can become. While we "concretize" our views about the matter states . "IN principle, in our convictions, and no less, then the "what of change" in our human constitutions.

Images courtesy of Vinod Menon (Stanford University)-Images from an experiment to locate the neural regions of the brain involved in listening to music. Daniel Levitin and another scientist scanned the brains of 13 people as they listened to scrambled and unscrambled versions of a tune.
“By the age of 5 we are all musical experts, so this stuff is clearly wired really deeply into us,” said Dr. Levitin, an eerily youthful-looking 49, surrounded by the pianos, guitars and enormous 16-track mixers that make his lab look more like a recording studio.

This summer he published “This Is Your Brain on Music” (Dutton), a layperson’s guide to the emerging neuroscience of music. Dr. Levitin is an unusually deft interpreter, full of striking scientific trivia. For example we learn that babies begin life with synesthesia, the trippy confusion that makes people experience sounds as smells or tastes as colors. Or that the cerebellum, a part of the brain that helps govern movement, is also wired to the ears and produces some of our emotional responses to music. His experiments have even suggested that watching a musician perform affects brain chemistry differently from listening to a recording.

Of course these are "matter states" defined and "of measure."

Synesthesia (Greek, syn = together + aisthesis = perception) is the involuntary physical experience of a cross-modal association. That is, the stimulation of one sensory modality reliably causes a perception in one or more different senses.

But yes indeed, what of a more "quantumly defined view" about what is not seen? Least I say, with "conclusive proof" that all these states of being in our human structure, and without measure are "not true?" Then what use "any method" that I would say and develop of value to "other defines states" of being, other then the "physical?" Emotional, Mental, or spiritual?

Sir Isaac Newton

It is true without lying, certain and most true. That which is Below is like that which is Above and that which is Above is like that which is Below to do the miracles of the Only Thing. And as all things have been and arose from One by the mediation of One, so all things have their birth from this One Thing by adaptation.

Babies Begin Life with Synesthesia

It is not without wonder then, that the child in us all, was in a better defined state of existance? Before, the "focus of structure" along with the views of the physical body, could have "pronounced the reality" with "all the things" that make each of us human to our reality now.

Whilst it "may have been" less complicated then "before," we assigned each of our senses accordingly to what stimulai will activate the "different regions of our brain?" These are learnt and developed states, that has "past our meddling", to have now become engrained in our physical makeup? What then, are we to evolve too?

Society with the way it now is, is focused in the "communication era of computers" and such. What attribute of the mind/brain is being developed, as we physically type on the keynoard in front of us, whilst we communicate on a level of mind that is less then the verbal sound communications our mouth's manifest in relations?

Quantum Computation and Evolution?

We used to think that if we knew one, we knew two, because one and one are two. We are finding out that we must learn a great deal more about 'and'."- Sir Arthur Eddington (1882-1944)

Of course a lot of this post has to do with the post created by Sean Carroll over at Cosmic Variance.

Sean Carroll:
Nobody would just be sitting around in their armchair, thinking deep thoughts about the nature of spacetime, and say “Hey, maybe if we look at quantum gravity with anti-de Sitter boundary conditions, it will be dual to a large-N conformal field theory in Minkowski space.” You had to be led there, bit by bit, by struggling to understand the individual puzzles presented by different pieces of the theory along the way. And it paid off big-time.

What he said caught my attention because I had been thinking of so many things piece meal, that when I realized the beauty extracted from the chaos, I couldn't help see things working on a sociological level as well. Sure, we can be arm chair philosophers, with systemic approaches that are computational in disquise, that at first glance would seem....um.....crackpotish?

Deep in the interior of a red giant star, hydrogen rich clouds (red) are seen to float above the hydrogen burning shell (blue)

It seems such insight gained from all the articles I have read, that have been shared with me, have amounted to nothing? Here I am, sitting in the pottism of my own...er I mean, "others" illusions which I continue to perpetuate?:)

What can be said about journalism is that within it's stories the substance of scientific thought is being generated/not generated?

Despite the universe's tendency towards disarray (like the socks in your drawer), there is a surprising amount of spontaneous order in the universe: stars clump into galaxies, atoms combine to form organized crystals, ants work together in a colony, species interact with each other and the physical environment to form ecosystems, cells build the different parts of a person, and neurons coordinate their firing to produce thought. When thousands of components get together in just the right way, something remarkable happens—they fall into recognizable, persistent patterns in space or in time. We live in a universe in which interactions among the basic building blocks of matter, or among individuals in our societies, give rise to unpredicted and unexpected emergent behavior. This occurs for many different types of things, large and small, living and inanimate.

Emergence is the study of how order arises from chaos, of how the interactions of simple objects with each other and their environment give rise to highly complex and often surprising behaviors.

Synchrony pervades the living world: some types of fireflies will flash in unison, the cacophony of crickets converges to a unified chirping, and populations of locusts swarm every 17 years. More sophisticated synchrony is found in the life cycle of an ant colony. Individual ants react robotically to chemical signals left by their neighbors during their short life span, while the colony as a whole lives, matures, and dies as a single organism that outlives any of its constituent, crawling parts.

While the wording of emergence is being entertained here it's applicability is far reaching. While being governed by the statement of Witten, it is not without understanding that the world and universe we have gone through in "computation evolutionary changes" allow us to see the dynamics of the universe in unique ways. It has to be mathematically consistent, or computationally it does not work out?

  • 1. Quantum Matter (atoms in a crystal, electrons in a superconductor)

  • 2. Soft Matter (the stacking and flow of ball bearings)

  • 3. Living Things
    (ant colonies, evolution, neural networks)

  • 4. Social and Economic Behavior (cities, traffic, economies)

  • So in the instance I shared in terms of the neutrinos and the "value of the sun" in contemplation, such pictures of nature while very detailed microscopically in perspective, are still quite beautiful over all to look at.

    Quantum Hall Effect

This article below was set in motion by Stefan's article,"Pencils, Black Holes, and the Klein Paradox", at Backreaction. B will have to offer her perspective on the blackhole analogy. I offer mine.:)

The fractional quantum Hall effect continues to be influential in theories about topological order.

It is interesting to see the interconnecting links of recent between the different blogs on the internet in terms of what information is being relayed back and forth without some understading of what is going on?

Number theory is the type of math that describes the swirl in the head of a sunflower and the curve of a chambered nautilus. Bhargava says it's also hidden in the rhythms of classical Indian music, which is both mathematical and improvisational. He sees close links between his two loves -- both create beauty and elegance by weaving together seemingly unconnected ideas.

As part of a Morning Edition series exploring the intersection of art and science, NPR's Richard Harris reports on the beauty of mathematics, its ties to art -- and the man who straddles both worlds.

So you learn to see relations where one might not of have before. "Computerization techniques" that would help us understand new ways in which transmit information?

    An Ultimate Theory in Physics?

Shahn Majid's research explores the world of quantum geometry, on the frontier between pure mathematics and the foundations of theoretical physics. He uses mathematical structures from algebra and category theory to develop ideas concerning the structure of space and time. His research philosophy drives a search for the right mathematical language for a unified expression for the ideas of quantum physics, founded on the notion of non-commutative geometry

While above I may have introduced the particular interest of Majid's in terms of beats in nature and number counting, it is with some understanding that "poetical desire" can have come "other issues" which rise up from schemas of nature?

The subject in its modern form has also been connected with developments in several different fields of both pure mathematics and mathematical physics. In mathematics these include fruitful interactions with analysis, number theory, category theory and representation theory. In mathematical physics, developments include the quantum Hall effect, applications to the standard model in particle physics and to renormalization in quantum field theory, models of spacetimes with noncommuting coordinates. Noncommutative geometry also appears naturally in string/M-theory. The programme will be devoted to bringing together these different streams and instances of noncommutative geometry, as well as identifying new emerging directions

So I mean if you are into the Riemann Hypothesis, you might wonder how such patterns sought by Ulam would have been of interest to people like Robert Laughlin and his ideas on "emergence." What "number systems" would arise from the first principle?

In a Pascalian sense" you might understand this now, as isssuing from some inherent "ordered" chaos?

Ulam's interest was on a high energy event( we know what that was, don't we?)? So what order can come out of such chaos?

This is the essence of the problems with transmitting information while paying witness to the origins of the math brought forward to the mind's eye from an understanding of the "birthing of new universes?"

    Update:

I never saw his "site topic Monday, September 04, 2006 until yesterday "after" constructing my post.

Links to "previous posts linked in quantum hall effect" should give some idea about previous knowledge regardless of PP Cook's posting. Just wanted to set that straight.

    Emergence: A Point in Spacetime

We used to think that if we knew one, we knew two, because one and one are two. We are finding out that we must learn a great deal more about 'and'."
    - Sir Arthur Eddington (1882-1944)

Foundational perspectives are important to me, and are part and parcel of a larger frame of thinking that comes into materiality.

What basis then leads such thinking, that something could manifest from another place and become the material reality with which we deal? I know this is about "what is in the now," yet such recognition of what is "chaotic and has complexity" now becomes an organizational pattern. What is "chaos theory?"

From the untold many constituents in the bulk perspective, "Higgin's" has some new found ways in which he can express himself. He see's new ways of travel in the universe?

What emergent properties would have such conditions and gatherings have on routing new universe from tunnelling found created within cosmological events? Which if reduced too, as QGP states of existance, would produce similar resulting anomalies encountered in superfluid state realities?

Since he is beyond what we are accustom too of the Standard model, then what value does Higgin's play as he is born to the level with which he now embues all of creation. He is strong on "some points," then others?

    The Unfolding Universe

There is but one kind of entropy change. Entropy change is due to energy dispersal to, from, or within a system (as a function of temperature.), measured by microstate change: S = kB ln [microstates final / microstates initial ].

If you look to the arrow of time, and "the event from which it sprang," how did such strings become the basis of thinking along this road to what exists in the universe today? It has been assign "a place" in this segment of the time's growth within this universe, and we have been sent "back in time to the reductionsitic valuation" of what is seen in the colliders, to see what is emergent today. But what did they find at the beginning? What shall we find at "the beginning" of any universe?

What effect did strings have on this evolution?

    The emergent universe

The breathtaking quality of emergence lies in its broad applicability, from ants to people, and from electrons to galaxies. We assume that we can sing and dance together because we are intelligent and coordinate our behavior, and so it is surprising to see the coordinated chirping of crickets, and shocking to discover that the same principles apply to mindless things such as water molecules arranging themselves in a crystalline structure to form ice. When you get enough things together, and they interact in just the right way, they suddenly shift to coherent behavior. Emergent principles may govern the smallest units of matter, as in electrons humming together within a superconductor, to the largest, as when entire galaxies clump into regular patterns. Scientists across multiple fields have found that such systems don't require a central ringleader directing the way – their self-organization is inevitable, due to the local interactions of nearest neighbors.

Emergence represents a revolutionary paradigm shift away from reductionism (the understanding of the world through understanding the component parts. Scientists working within the revolutionary paradigm of emergence study the organizing principles causing collective behavior across many disciplines.

The EUP is focusing on the following types of emergent systems

A point in space implies that such emergence into the spacetime co-ordiantes, have some "other dimensional relation" beyond what we are saying of 3+1? So of course I am enthralled by such an emergence and what could come into these spacetime coordinates.

So the universe in it's unfolding has certain attributes in it's early phases that amount to the conditions Sean Carroll may sees of it? If this is the case, then that valuation of the universe, in it's unfolding is doing what? It's temperature?

If you "wrap the whole of what this arrow of time is, in a geomtrical sense," then the strings and the time of the universe in "Sean's perspective" is inclusive?

So how do we say such a crunch is to happen? How does such thinking become part of our reasoning, to say that the universe will collapase on itself, and become something new? Will it ever?

Tegmark does not take to such "topological expressions of the universe," yet, if you look at the WMAP mapping of the universe what is it you see besides these points of expression, as some nodal and anti-nodal analogy to the cosmological events? Tunnels, through which we can travel? New energy, being distributed back into the universe, in the form of dark energy/matter?

We report results of the first strangelet search at RHIC. The measurement was done using a triggered data-set that sampled 61 million top 4% most central (head-on) Au+Au collisions at $\sNN= 200 $GeV in the very forward rapidity region at the STAR detector. Upper limits at a level of a few $10^{-6}$ to $10^{-7}$ per central Au+Au collision are set for strangelets with mass ${}^{>}_{\sim}30$ GeV/$c^{2}$.

If strangelets have been disproved then what "crazy thoughts" shall we now think of, in what constitutes the "new physics?" Tachyon condensation perhaps?

What is the "false vaccuum" to the "true," when it is geometrically expressed? :)

    Gold and Fool's Gold

    Gold
Perhaps the highest density known is reached in neutron star matter (see neutronium). The singularity at the centre of a black hole, according to general relativity, does not have any volume, so its density is undefined.

The most dense naturally occurring substance on Earth is iridium, at about 22650 kg·m-3.

A table of densities of various substances:

So of course seeing this new posting and the ideas of what the gold nugget "is," is supposed to be here in our thinking is of course. Being clarified in terms of how we look at the LHC, most defintiely. Having expert opinion on this is always important. for sure.

    Fool's Gold ?

Who is not without some blemish on the "heart values" when it had been held to a goal like truth, and had gone astray? It just matters that you try, and that you hold this value in front of your eyes, as you progress through life.

I was at a loss for what would describe "this beginning" and having looked at what is attained in the "Pascalian triangle", how could I not learn of the spiral induced numbers that lie at the very heart of such creations.

You have to understand what the basis of what this triangle is based upon. I gave clues here.

Some fractorial mathematical based idea, exposed to the matters, as crystaline objects of perception unfolding? Wolfram?

NPR's Richard Harris reports on the beauty of mathematics

How are some things built, that you would ignore "the mathematics at the basis of experience." Having such a geometrical basis is very important. I may call it "Algebraic equations" of Dirac(Lubos take note:), but it is more then that, and it is in the emergence of strings, that we recognize where the conditions are, as the strings basis? You had to understand "the entropic" as well as the CFT issues from the blackhole state? What are the initial conditions?

If I say microseconds, you should immediately assume it is after the big bang.:)Topological "geometrics" eh? :) is much different, then what we see classically of the 3+1? You remember "Klein's ordering of the geometries," of course? Right?

    Gold in the Landscape?

I was looking for a specific posting on "Fool's gold" so I thought of Clifford's at Cosmic Variance and the post he created. A specific comment that I made. No, this does not imply anything against Clifford. :)

Here you might refer to the points between Lubos and Bee, about the "initial conditions?" It's "beyond" the placement of what is held in microseconds, and the arrow of time. What! Before time began?

So where is that? What already existed?

However, don't be fooled! The charm of the golden number tends to attract kooks and the gullible - hence the term "fool's gold". You have to be careful about anything you read about this number. In particular, if you think ancient Greeks ran around in togas philosophizing about the "golden ratio" and calling it "Phi", you're wrong. This number was named Phi after Phidias only in 1914, in a book called _The Curves of Life_ by the artist Theodore Cook. And, it was Cook who first started calling 1.618...the golden ratio. Before him, 0.618... was called the golden ratio! Cook dubbed this number "phi", the lower-case baby brother of Phi.

What a Cosmologist Wants From String theory by David Wand

I mean have tried to instill a good foundational perspective of what happens, and what is percieved, in terms of the joining of microsperspective views in regards to the nature of the cosmo?

So what is not revealled here in "my thinking" although we have been directed to the process of the "collidial views" imparted by expert opinion and further glossed by Q's blog building to face this thinking process? :)

A debate/dialogue is always a good thing to initiate, and I have not be too lucky to have somebody to run against my thinking. It's a relief Q. As you say, "I am looking for truth."

So where I am going to go from here? :) Should I go?

Well science has this thingy about experiment and beyond that, beyond the standard model, what thinking shall I introduce? Something "beyond the 3+1" perhaps? :)

    Dimensional Referencing

While the basis of the cosmic string lying in ruins in terms of verification that others went after, it does noes not in anyway reduce the impoirtance of how Andrey Kravtsov's animation can be less in our assumption of the supersymmetrical universe?

It's as if the neurons are connecting, in the vast universe, to bring parts of itself to linking in some "visionary image," that mankind has connected, from one thought to another.

Never mind about Jacque Distler's interlinking software capabilites, as this has been going on for sometime now, here, and on other forums.

Even the term Trackback is new, while this neuronical developement was understood in terms of Andrey Kravtsov's computer imaging, it becomes even more apparent, as the images I bring forward take their place in our thinking.

There is more to follow for sure.

They call them trackbacks." I just call them a continuation of the interlinking that is going on in the universe.:) Wordful quotation, or in imagery, we can track it to the source eventually?

    Phase Changes

It's a way of seeing dynamical movement and phase states? If Alice didn't step into mirror world, what would Young's experiment have meant in relation to path integrals?

G -> H -> ... -> SU(3) x SU(2) x U(1) -> SU(3) x U(1). You have to realize that such emergence into the views of universal formulations, has to have some associative response from the quantum world to see that such relevance in the cosmological particpations could have ever pointed to the motivation of these universes coming into being, that it would go through a phase transformation relevant to each particle discription? Is this correct? This presented itself in a "way of seeing" that stretches the mind imaginations tht I wonder have I indeed gone off the deep end.

Columbus, or the Greeks, over some "edge" and be done with it? :) No there are always greate rimagnations working to solve the fantasies that Dirac may of set in motion for Feynman.

So "Toy models" are created to house the systemic movements. From this, calorimetric instruments are developed.

Now we change the way we have been doing things and the following paragraph makes more sense?

We had to break out of the moulding with which society has cast itself. It requires "greater ingenuity and imagination" to go beyond the standard model.

Shall we forget about Dirac's abilties besides writing to the algebraic equations, or Feynman's extension of the matrices, to toy models?

    Ant World

Three dimensions are all we see -- how could there be any more? Einstein's general theory of relativity tells us that space can expand, contract, and bend. If one direction were to contract down to an extremely tiny size, much smaller than an atom, it would be hidden from our view. If we could see on small enough scales, that hidden dimension might become visible.

    Supersymmetry<->Simplistically<-> Entropically Designed?

So of course I am troubled by my inexperience, as well as, the interests of what could have been produced in the "new computers" of the future? So in some weird sense how would you wrap the dynamics of what lead to "Moore's law" and find that this consideration is now in trouble? While having wrapped the "potential chaoticness" in a systemic feature here as deterministic? Is this apporpriate?

In the presence of gravitational field (or, in general, of any potential field) the molecules of gas are acted upon by the gravitational forces. As a result the concentration of gas molecules is not the same at various points of the space and described by Boltzman distribution law:

What happens exponetially in recognizing the avenues first debated between what was a consequence of "two paths," One that would be more then likely "a bizzare" while some would have consider the other, the cathedral? Leftists should not be punished Lubos:)

    So what is Chaos then?

The roots of chaos theory date back to about 1900, in the studies of Henri Poincaré on the problem of the motion of three objects in mutual gravitational attraction, the so-called three-body problem. Poincaré found that there can be orbits which are nonperiodic, and yet not forever increasing nor approaching a fixed point. Later studies, also on the topic of nonlinear differential equations, were carried out by G.D. Birkhoff, A.N. Kolmogorov, M.L. Cartwright, J.E. Littlewood, and Stephen Smale. Except for Smale, who was perhaps the first pure mathematician to study nonlinear dynamics, these studies were all directly inspired by physics: the three-body problem in the case of Birkhoff, turbulence and astronomical problems in the case of Kolmogorov, and radio engineering in the case of Cartwright and Littlewood. Although chaotic planetary motion had not been observed, experimentalists had encountered turbulence in fluid motion and nonperiodic oscillation in radio circuits without the benefit of a theory to explain what they were seeing.

So this talk then is taken to "another level" and the distinctions of WeB 2.0 raised it's head, and of course, if you read the exponential growth highlghted in communities desemmination of all information, how could it be only Web 1.0 if held to Netscape design?

I mean definitely, if we were to consider "the Pascalian triangle" and the emergence of the numbered systems, what said the Riemann Hypothesis would not have emerged also? The "marble drop" as some inclusive designation of the development of curves in society, that were once raised from "an idea" drawn, from some place?

    Pattern Recognition

    Strominger:
That was the problem we had to solve. In order to count microstates, you need a microscopic theory. Boltzmann had one–the theory of molecules. We needed a microscopic theory for black holes that had to have three characteristics: One, it had to include quantum mechanics. Two, it obviously had to include gravity, because black holes are the quintessential gravitational objects. And three, it had to be a theory in which we would be able to do the hard computations of strong interactions. I say strong interactions because the forces inside a black hole are large, and whenever you have a system in which forces are large it becomes hard to do a calculation.

The old version of string theory, pre-1995, had these first two features. It includes quantum mechanics and gravity, but the kinds of things we could calculate were pretty limited. All of a sudden in 1995, we learned how to calculate things when the interactions are strong. Suddenly we understood a lot about the theory. And so figuring out how to compute the entropy of black holes became a really obvious challenge. I, for one, felt it was incumbent upon the theory to give us a solution to the problem of computing the entropy, or it wasn't the right theory. Of course we were all gratified that it did.

I mean sure we can say to ourselves, "that one day I was very ignorant" and I had all these speculative ideas about the "Golden Ratio," but then, I learnt the math and the truth of it all?

But while we were being crazy......?:) Ahem!

Namagiri, the consort of the lion god Narasimha. Ramanujan believed that he existed to serve as Namagiri´s champion - Hindu Goddess of creativity. In real life Ramanujan told people that Namagiri visited him in his dreams and wrote equations on his tongue.

In "past life bleed throughs," it was very important to realize that while speaking in context of "overlapping," the underlying archetecture allowed for expression of those different interpretive assignments I had given. These were significant for me, because it help me to realize the "mapping" that we can unconsciously have revealled in such "experience dream/real patterns," that had one not be aware it, would have escape one's notice as a mundane realization.

You had to understand how "geometrical seeing" is held in context of Dirac's wording, to know that this tendency to draw lines at the basis of consciousness, was also evident in Feynman's toy model construction. It is something that we do, do.

    So what did I learn?

  • 1. That it revealled a model for consciousness, from the reality of the day, to the transcendant.

  • 2. That it housed an experience in the way it can overlapped using "1" as a central pattern of emergence.

  • 3. That present day models now use this schematic are psychologically endowed in speculation(liminocentrically structured), but has a basis in fact, as I am showing it here.

  • "Betrayal of Images" by Rene Magritte. 1929 painting on which is written "This is not a Pipe"

What sense would any of this "cognitive idealization" make, if one did not have some model in which to present, and know, that it was the underlay of all experience, and that the time of our day, might see us use it in topologically in different ways?

I used Sklar for this example.

But more then this what use is "Pascal Triangle" if we did not understand the emergence of "patterned numbers" from some initial beginning and cognitive realization, had we not recognized Pascal's model intepretation?

With no know emergent principals, or geometry arising from inside the blackhole, it was important that the basis of expression be realized as a pattern forming recognitive valuation? Is it right? I am not sure, but part of the developing model application had me wonder about how we could have encapsulated the cyclical nature of, what was collapsing into the singularity, was now actually, the motivational force for the developing new universe?

When it was discovered that black holes can decay by quantum processes, it was also discovered that black holes seem to have the thermodynamic properties of temperature and entropy. The temperature of the black hole is inversely proportional to its mass, so the black hole gets hotter and hotter as it decays.

So it was important to know the basis of D brane recognitive values, in how the blackhole is interpreted?

Is the door open to the eruption of the sociology of knowledge?

Nobody really thinks about the subtle perceptions that can make their way into the scientist's mind? Do they?

While, I had talked about the quiet places we like to go to find that peace of mind, it might be different for each of us? Maybe for Clifford, it is the stream. Maybe for a Witten and his walks, the stream, as well?

I spent a lot of years watching the subtle language that one can draw from the subconscious in dream time and to me such suttle obsersvation while fleeting, it always is a good idea to have a pen and paper alongside of you. Because, it happens that quick sometimes, that if you don't catch it, it sort of leaves the focal front to the tip of the tongue, as a puzzling thought about?

This enlightenment experience is a realization about the nature of the mind which entails recognizing it (in a direct, experiential way) as liminocentrically organized. The overall structure is paradoxical, and so the articulation of this realization will 'transcend' logic - insofar as logic itself is based on the presumption that nested sets are not permitted to loop back on themselves in a non-heirarchical manner. 11

    Piercing the veil perhaps?

Some of the things that seem to influence creativity, is the very idea of flow, and sitting by a river, "to think" might be one, or sitting high up on a mountain looking over the landscape, perhaps? Looking deep into "the space of the starry universe" above?

Observation is really important I believe. If I were to say the "space between the heartbeat," it would not have been to unlikely, that the points between something, could ever be reduced to have it seem that our "quantum perception" has revealled a dynamical reality?

Yes it's true. Energy calculations revealled information about the space we are living in? Nothing confusing about that. How silly then, that such a suttle perception as to the cards below would have passed our attention unsignificant?

Anomaly and the Emergence of Scientific Discoveries[/b] Kuhn now moves past his initial topic of paradigm to scientific discovery saying that in order for there to be a discovery, an anomaly must be detected within the field of study. He discusses several different studies and points out the anomaly that invoked the scientific discovery. Later in the chapter he begins to discuss how the anomaly can be incorporated into the discovery to satisfy the scientific community.

There are three different characteristics of all discoveries from which new sorts of phenomena emerge. These three characteristics are proven through an experiment dealing with a deck of cards. The deck consisted of anomalous cards (e.g. the red six of spades shown on the previous page) mixed in with regular cards. These cards were held up in front of students who were asked to call out the card they saw, and in most cases the anomaly was not detected.

Attention and awareness is sometimes like listening "between the heartbeats?" Also if you look at that space what is it then filled with? I had a hard time of it trying to understand what nothing meant. It just does not make sense. Nothing is Nothing, and something out of Nothing is really a hard one to ponder for me so I had to see these dynamics working in ways that would tax the mind visually.

    So what did I do?

Why is sound so important in the analogies of science now? Acoustically, what would the science of sound mean in our discriptions of the landscape? How does it change the way we thnk and do, and leads our thinking minds into some kind of entrainment that is rhythmetically enhanced? What does it do for the brain waves? Functional use, done in MRI study, along with the process of thinking?

So I thought I should build a world that leads us to realize the reality we create. You think I did not think of the color of these situations? Look carefully at the ephemeral qualities of mind.

You have to understand that the geometrical realization at the basis of my own experiences were derived from understanding the work of Carl Jung, and the mandalas he talked about.

The way in which he might have divided up the circle according to the way our minds work. Having the anima and animus respectvely in both male and female, what really made me think of the topological function of the mind, are up top, on the enlightenment plate. Balance was needed to be struck and this is done automatically depending on our genders the balance would have been injected accordingly?

If you think for one moment our past history is not important, what use to understand that we continue evolve within our consciousness?

There are such designs from our expierence, to learn? You might have read my views on emotions and experience, and how we cannot change what has already happened, but we can meet the expeirence and change the attitude? That is within our power and ths is what sets up the future.

Proceedings of Societies [Report on the Law of Octaves]
Mr. JOHN A. R. NEWLANDS read a paper entitled "The Law of Octaves, and the Causes of Numerical Relations among the Atomic Weights."[41] The author claims the discovery of a law according to which the elements analogous in their properties exhibit peculiar relationships, similar to those subsisting in music between a note and its octave. Starting from the atomic weights on Cannizzarro's [sic] system, the author arranges the known elements in order of succession, beginning with the lowest atomic weight (hydrogen) and ending with thorium (=231.5); placing, however, nickel and cobalt, platinum and iridium, cerium and lanthanum, &c., in positions of absolute equality or in the same line. The fifty-six elements[42] so arranged are said to form the compass of eight octaves, and the author finds that chlorine, bromine, iodine, and fluorine are thus brought into the same line, or occupy corresponding places in his scale. Nitrogen and phosphorus, oxygen and sulphur, &c., are also considered as forming true octaves. The author's supposition will be exemplified in Table II., shown to the meeting, and here subjoined:--

In this way I sort of felt that a calm mind and a calm heart, would allow one to see the discrepancies better. I do not know if that is the truth of it, but imagine our perception going deeper then it had ever gone before? There had to be some results, from listening?

    A Chladni plate consist of a flat sheet of metal, usually circular or square, mounted on a central stalk to a sturdy base. When the plate is oscillating in a particular mode of vibration, the nodes and antinodes set up form a complex but symmetrical pattern over its surface. The positions of these nodes and antinodes can be seen by sprinkling sand upon the plates;

If one moment you thought of the Law of Octaves above, what place "the heart" to serve for our evolving consicousness?

The Revolution that Didn't Happen by Steven Weinberg

I first read Thomas Kuhn's famous book The Structure of Scientific Revolutions1 a quarter-century ago, soon after the publication of the second edition. I had known Kuhn only slightly when we had been together on the faculty at Berkeley in the early 1960s, but I came to like and admire him later, when he came to MIT. His book I found exciting.

Evidently others felt the same. Structure has had a wider influence than any other book on the history of science. Soon after Kuhn's death in 1996, the sociologist Clifford Geertz remarked that Kuhn's book had "opened the door to the eruption of the sociology of knowledge" into the study of the sciences. Kuhn's ideas have been invoked again and again in the recent conflict over the relation of science and culture known as the science wars.

    Abraham Maslow and Peak Experience

"The worst disease afflicting human kind is hardening of the categories." - Artist Bob Miller.

Well I having been watching the topics ofCategorically Not site created. I see such fine visitations by those who have ventured into the science, asking for responsibility of mind in science, be given to society on a platform, as a fine and ethical reporting/lectures, on where science/other issues, are today?

That they had ventured beyond the safe haven of science, to talk about "intuition of a kind", held to thoughts on subjectivity made me think.

So things less likely to be held in the role of experimental validation( and psychological modelling has learnt to bear the brunt of scorn by many science minds?) that we might like to see physical processes and evidenced to date, also, as a kind of invitation to think about the roles subjectively of modelled thought about intuition worked, revealled as common today in practise?

Peak experiences (wikipedia 17 April 2006)
Peak experience is a term used to describe certain extra-personal and ecstatic states, particularly ones tinged with themes of unification, harmonization and interconnectedness. Participants characterize these experiences, and the relevations imparted therein, as possessing an ineffably mystical (or overtly religious) quality or essence

The question I might have placed up front here, is if such thoughts about intuition are born to what it would constitute, would one have said, a close relation to "Peak experience"? What would any consolidation of the individual represent in it's wholeness, if such an actualization moment was percieved for a short time, that such gains made by the work and study of, found it's application would have been granted in the moment of one's solitude? As one who gazed into the stream, or one who found in such a place that would help the mind in its efforts to raised the packet from the probability of all possibilties, as an enlightening moment?

From whence would all such idealizations emerge, that such an tonality of thought would embrace itself as a self actualized moment in the connection to the value of all probabilites with this peak moment? The probability of all things needed a resource and commonality from which all minds could draw some comparison. Where was this moment of recognition? A harmonical Oscillator of a kind, possibly? The basis of all reality existed in some form self described harmonical expression?

    1908-1970
    by Dr. C. George Boeree

Abraham Harold Maslow was born April 1, 1908 in Brooklyn, New York. He was the first of seven children born to his parents, who themselves were uneducated Jewish immigrants from Russia. His parents, hoping for the best for their children in the new world, pushed him hard for academic success. Not surprisingly, he became very lonely as a boy, and found his refuge in books.

What I had been working towards here in the pass couple of years is evidence by the archive to the right.

It has been a interestng experience trying as best I can to see where science was going. What was being held at the forefront of science knowledge, in regards to the theoretical idealizations, that were born to push insight, and perception deeper into the coming realities. The cognition of what might be borne in mind, that any emergence might have revealled of itself in the aspect of new geometries formed to consolidate all geometries that currenty exist?

What shall these be in the mind where cognition is born out of the reality about our being?

Surprizingly, as one learns about themself, the life experience seems to become clearer, as we progress along the "road of independance." Learning curves, that keep us so occupied, that the life's lesson might never seem ever finished, as we progress through one goal or another. Find, the mind flowing and growing. IT had a path which we might have never had known, had we not realized what it had amounted to in realization? It's work?

What could the intellect become if it held all it's intention to "abstract form" in mathematics, that it never found the associations it did and were needed in pushing into those deeper realities? There was a point it no longer worked, and such a place held in the microcosmic view, was still part of a much larger cosmological view? Can this not be so?

How can a speck of a universe be physically identical to the great expanse we view in the heavens above? (Greene, The Elegant Universe, pages 248-249).

Above it all, there were ideas in my mind that biased the way I talked and wrote, that I saw beyond what the intentions were about our participation into forging the reductionistic view, as some part of the greater whole? Why, I recognized the probelmatic koan( can I call it that) revealled in Brian Greene's wording that guided my thought process.

This was labelled as an liminocentruc structures, and within the context of this blogger experience of writing, I wrote about them historically, as a place visited, and as images that arise in mind, that could have represented aspects of our wholeness.

The mandala can also be an image of eternity cycling through time and as such images soul's and Nature's circular journeys, as they are reflected in, for example, the Native American Medicine Wheel, in seasonal, rebirth and karmic cycles, in mythic journeys of going out and returning changed to one's point of origin, and in the zodiacal wheel as life's twelve archetypal stages of personal growth.

This cyclic transformation is also at the heart of ancient Chinese meditation. When the spiritual light in the body moves through rhythmical breathing in a circle, all the opposite energies of heaven and earth, sun and moon, light and dark, are crystallised and form what the Chinese called the Golden Flower, an inner mandala imaging the balanced, open and centred heart.

Maybe, mandalic in origins, that such symbols revealled the deeper insight of the soul who had travelled and secured the "parcel of thought gained" as packages to be born in mind, to surface time and time again?

What use to loose our pursuates to self actualization, and immmediate recognitions of that peak experience, to have found Maslow had created a pyramid of a kind? It had already rested deeply in my own mind's creations, as a model formed. Can I progress his thoughts and his models mine. I most certainly can, and I have the history to prove this, as I incinuate from what is baised in my own views. My writing.

Who is Abraham Maslow, that such idealizations would amount to a psychological veiw I engaged in just the last couple of days or so, that I'd found some association too, model depictions, that I myself had created.

Consider this the base of the pyramid and the four faces, and what value this insight that such perfection could have arsien from Maslow's hierarchal renditions towards self actualization, that the lower centers of humanity would have been it's struggle in the heart, to have become actualized in the heart of mind, as a transcendance of thought, gained?

It was with some historical perspective that having spent years studing, that such model was produced. Which guided my own wording and thinking as I developed. Befuddle readers, as to the demands for a more clearer kind of writing.

Asked, if the most predominante language should be, I too had said math, but most will say english. I give my reasons why, for math, yet so inexperienced am I it's many forms:)

The archetype has no form of its own, but it acts as an "organizing principle" on the things we see or do. It works the way that instincts work in Freud's theory: At first, the baby just wants something to eat, without knowing what it wants. It has a rather indefinite yearning which, nevertheless, can be satisfied by some things and not by others. Later, with experience, the child begins to yearn for something more specific when it is hungry -- a bottle, a cookie, a broiled lobster, a slice of New York style pizza.

The archetype is like a black hole in space: You only know its there by how it draws matter and light to itself.

Less comprehensible no doubt, without out the reader having has some idea of where I was speaking from? No, not from some "other worldly" person like PLato, but an "archetype used" to progress the thoughts of many who had themself engaged in science, about the greater perception/inspiration, as we moved back from the Plato's Cave, to gain in light, about man's imprisonment. As we have "unchained the mind" from the links/matter that bind us.

So you might say what changed?

As I read some more on Maslow, I learnt about many things about my own mind that felt true, to what was being read. That I understand now, that the first part of the lesson about self and it's motivation with years of study, might had seen and been lost, had I not now concluded some thoughts about what I have gained in recognition about self? Time in perception about the past allows this recollection and reminincing now focused forward.

What could be added to Maslows hierarchal diagram of thinking mind and about the steps of progression had some kind of self actualization been bound in the determined mind of one who was not a conformist? To any degree, who liken the freedom to study outside all of the rules of engagement, was still very respectful of the halls of higher learning.

Engaging life as a father and husband, the early years and education did not ever reveal that I would be capable less than the man working ever with his hands and mind to be paid? That his family needed to be supported and growth accomplished as any child would in nurture. While amidst this, a experimentor, and philosopher, as student of life in father felt.

You had to be motivated( what kind of motivation is seeking, what is it's base), or why would you waste your time travelling through the idealizations we do encounter. Facing to see what modulation of thought might do in seeing anew? You had to rise above those lower centers. Such a climb, to the heart in mind(some might know of it's truth comparison in images shown here. Was part of the actualization process after attending class?

Alchemcial processes might have shown such step processes engaged in the process of purifying(psychological), as well as leading to the understanding of who the king was(ego) and how mastery would have been gained over?

Quantum Mechanics: Determinism at Planck Scale

Perhaps Quantum Gravity can be Handled by thoroughly reconsidering Quantum Mechanics itself?- Gerard t' Hooft

Albert Einstein used harmonic oscillators to understand specific heats of solids and found that energy levels are quantized. This formed one of the key bridges between classical and quantum mechanics.

Can harmonic oscillators serve as a bridge between quantum mechanics and special relativity?

It is nice Paul that you continue to bring perspective forward here for consideration.

I'll hope you will supply the paragraph one day that made the lights go on for you about what you are percieving, and from what you have understood having read Einstein's words in later life. Many tend to think Einstein was unproductive in his later life?

The basis of the paper you brought forward for inspection, is really quite significant, in my views. I'll tell you what I see and from this discussion, the ideas of what the Riemann's Hypothesis might mean in the expansion of cyclical processes we might have seen in the Ulam spiral perhaps?

You have been developing that perspective for a quite a while, as your numbers attest to this expression. So what are Poincare cycles? This I'll hold off for a bit, becuase I am returning to the earlier discussion wehad about what Zero actually means. Do you remember? Perhaps you could sum it up again from our consversationin the comment section.

You describe returning to the Laughlin and the foundational perspectives, for a better look. Type in "emergence" or "first principle" into the blog search feature, would be quite productive I think.

This is a good indicator to me that the route to describing the process although very difficult in ascertaing value in the "dissapation effect" of the virtual blackhole of Hooft, what value is this insight if it did not have a basis for which it could work?

THE MATHEMATICAL BASIS FOR DETERMINISTIC QUANTUM MECHANICS by Gerard ’t Hooft

One now may turn this observation around. A closed system that can only be in a finite number of different states, making transitions at discrete time intervals, would necessarily evolve back into itself after a certain amount of time, thus exhibiting what is called a Poincar´e cycle. If there were no information loss, these Poincar´e cycles would tend to become very long, with a periodicity that would increase exponentially with the size of the system. If there is information loss, for instance in the form of some dissipation effect, a system may eventually end up in Poincar´e cycles with much shorter periodicities. Indeed, time does not have to be discrete in that case, and the physical variables may form a continuum; there could be a finite set of stable orbits such that, regardless the initial configuration, any orbit is attracted towards one of these stable orbits; they are the limit cycles.

So Hooft is explaining this for us here? Only in a "positive" expression?

Before movng onthen soemthings would have had to been made clear as far as I can tell in regards to the basis of what zero actually means.

    An Energy of Empty Space?

Einstein was the first person to realize that empty space is not nothingness. Space has amazing properties, many of which are just beginning to be understood. The first property of space that Einstein discovered is that more space can actually come into existence. Einstein's gravity theory makes a second prediction: "empty space" can have its own energy. This energy would not be diluted as space expands, because it is a property of space itself; as more space came into existence, more of this energy-of-space would come into existence as well. As a result, this form of energy would cause the universe to expand faster and faster as time passes. Unfortunately, no one understands why space should contain the observed amount of energy and not, say, much more or much less.

Once you get to th ebulk space it is extremely hard to explain how I gothere in my visual thinking but it is true that I see dynamcial spaces and all inlcusive views of the science of this original encapsulated in a geometrical process. Whether it's right or not is another question. I know this:)

While D brane analyisis had been given to another for perspective in relation to how we see Belenstein bound and the horizon of value, being describe by CFT, we know well then that the abstraction of D brane thinking has to answer to those microscopial visonistic qualites of a very dynamcial place?

That what has happen inside the blackhole, had something else as well to consider? Anomalies in perception then exist in how we see the quark Gluon plasma in relation to the principals of superfluids.

Why molasses and ice cream production might seem important to some, while others might dismiss the childest antics of the condense matter theorist?

So while these things are happening we should know that the condition elevated to bulk persepctive would have one see graviton production, as constituents of this bulk space. This derivation placed the bulk perspectve within grasp of what the harmonic oscillator means as we move our peceptions to the flat spacetime arrived at in the production of the quark Gluon plasma, that we are so boldly talking about here in views of the langrangian space.

I see in the WMAP perspective held to analogies of the sound in polarization modes as, nodes and anti-nodes and are really interesting when held to that perspective about what we might think of in relation to how we see particle physics having undergone a model change, as well as a perspective one as well.

This is a fifth dimensional view accomplished.

"Wholeness and Creativity" under the Guise of Synesthesia

It is not without some understanding, that models can influence how the rest of the mind might seek to unify such concepts. Is there some spiritual sigificance to it? In Wassily Kandinsky's mind there might be, yet some woud argue, that Wassily was and had this process taking form in the mind but did not have this ability/ (disease)?.

I just wanted to supply some defintion here and the related article above, for I have much more to say, but I am limited by time to complete the article today.

ABSTRACT: Synesthesia (Greek, syn = together + aisthesis = perception) is the involuntary physical experience of a cross-modal association. That is, the stimulation of one sensory modality reliably causes a perception in one or more different senses. Its phenomenology clearly distinguishes it from metaphor, literary tropes, sound symbolism, and deliberate artistic contrivances that sometimes employ the term "synesthesia" to describe their multisensory joinings. An unexpected demographic and cognitive constellation co-occurs with synesthesia: females and non-right-handers predominate, the trait is familial, and memory is superior while math and spatial navigation suffer. Synesthesia appears to be a left-hemisphere function that is not cortical in the conventional sense. The hippocampus is critical for its experience. Five clinical features comprise its diagnosis. Synesthesia is "abnormal" only in being statistically rare. It is, in fact, a normal brain process that is prematurely displayed to consciousness in a minority of individuals.

    Intersection of D Branes

I'm not going to try and kid you with "this stuff," as it is extremely beyond anything that any of us mere mortal can understand. So, if such a thought would be to simplify, then how would such thinking be attributed to such model building and make it easier for us lay people to comprehend where these people are working in terms of the way they do things.

What is important is that we can derive some method to this madness:) okay! rather this abstract thinking, to show some kind of similarity in lay people's current thought patterns for easy recognition.

I'll burn in hell, if I get this wrong, but surely from my "faulty trails (not Tower)" I can be forgiven, until a clearer picture is given to us, that I could revamp all that I said, and leave for you now, the trials and tibulation of a rogue what?:)

Now you have to think about what I am saying, if you understand indeed, that such a place exists in the picture below, which for us mortals to consider. Think for a minute about the blackhole and where I had been talking in relation to the collider, as well as, the cosmic collisions taking place, with higher energy particles in our own atmosphere.

Weak field manifestation has particle consideration evident, and we find these here on earth, as neutrinos. Do You see now?

Physicists Andrew Strominger and Cumrin Vafa, showed that this exact entropy formula can be derived microscopically (including the factor of 1/4) by counting the degeneracy of quantum states of configurations of strings and D-branes which correspond to black holes in string theory. This is compelling evidence that D-branes can provide a short distance weak coupling description of certain black holes! For example, the class of black holes studied by Strominger and Vafa are described by 5-branes, 1-branes and open strings traveling down the 1-brane all wrapped on a 5-dimensional torus, which gives an effective one dimensional object -- a black hole.

I thought this to be part of the trivial effort with which I had departed to the bulk perspective, without really undertanding how I had got there. Yet I do see in these ways and many things are encompassed within it(gravitonic concentration). I would say, like Clifford telling us about the proper way in which we should move within these mathematical environs, then I would say what a rogue scholar I make, becuase this seems be the bastard child I am whose school is by insight developement, and some of it, wrong of course. But I try.

Superstrings, black holes and gauge theories

D-branes are non-perturbative excitations of string theory on which open strings can end. Open strings have gauge fields, so the D-branes define a gauge theory. There is a class of black hole made of D-branes, and these have a quantum gauge theory description. The closed strings define a field theory of gravity.

    PROSPECTS FROM STRINGS AND BRANESA.SEVRIN

Strings occur in two versions: closed and open strings. Roughly speaking, one has that closed strings carry the gravitational interaction and the open strings carry the gauge interactions. While closed strings can freely propagate in space, the modern point of view is that the end points of open strings are “stuck” on p-dimensional hypersurfaces, where p ∈ {1, 2, · · · , 9}. These hypersurfaces are known as Dp-branes. They are dynamical but they are extremely heavy in the perturbative regime of string theory (their tension or energy per unit of volume is inversely proportional to the string coupling constant): they are solitons. A D0-brane is a point-like object, a D1-brane a string-like object, a D2-brane a membrane, ... Just as a propagating point particle sweeps out a curve – the world-line – in space-time, a Dp-brane sweeps out a p + 1-dimensional volume – the world-volume – in the 10-dimensional space-time. The effective dynamics on the world-volume is then described by a p + 1-dimensional field theory.

D-branes represent a key theoretical tool in the understanding of strongly coupled superstring theory and M-theory. They have led to many striking discoveries, including the precise microphysics underlying the thermodynamic behaviour of certain black holes, and remarkable holographic dualities between large-N gauge theories and gravity. This book provides a self-contained introduction to the technology of D-branes, presenting the recent developments and ideas in a pedagogical manner. It is suitable for use as a textbook in graduate courses on modern string theory and theoretical particle physics, and will also be an indispensable reference for seasoned practitioners. The introductory material is developed by first starting with the main features of string theory needed to get rapidly to grips with D-branes, uncovering further aspects while actually working with D-branes. Many advanced applications are covered, with discussions of open problems which could form the basis for new avenues of research

The link below contains over 222 pages, so if you are on Dial-up, you have to think twice about clicking on it. Another of Cosmic Variance's very own.

    D-Brane PrimerClifford V. Johnson
Following is a collection of lecture notes on D-branes, which may be used by the reader as preparation for applications to modern research applications such as: the AdS/CFT and other gauge theory/geometry correspondences, Matrix Theory and stringy non-commutative geometry, etc. In attempting to be reasonably self-contained, the notes start from classical point-particles and develop the subject logically (but selectively) through classical strings, quantisation, D-branes, supergravity, superstrings, string duality, including many detailed applications. Selected focus topics feature D-branes as probes of both spacetime and gauge geometry, highlighting the role of world-volume curvature and gauge couplings, with some non-Abelian cases. Other advanced topics which are discussed are the (presently) novel tools of research such as fractional branes, the enhancon mechanism, D(ielectric)-branes and the emergence of the fuzzy/non-commutative sphere.

Struggle within Self Becomes Strugge of Nation

The link post titled nameabove in title above will have to be corrected, and can be done in other places, but for now it has to remain as it is here.

Those CV people are Radicals for change, eh?:) See here, here, here?

"If you are not with us you are against us". Imagine such sentiments even within your own country? Could such a country become divisive within itself, that there is the emergence of a "left" and "right." and that you have just now assume the dubious "left." :)

I'm thinking of Sean's entry on perspective. The sound of "one hand clapping." Sort of the recognition, that if you change the "idealization to nonviolence," it acted as a force with which anger and aggressive attitudes of the "right" to control behavior of the left, had nothing against with which it could push?

Reserve one's judgement on the speech? :( What am I asking? Would automatically send up the hackles Qui! NOn!

Seeing the same cartoonist construct three different pieces on the same topic, from three standpoints, is really an edifying experience. Not only for my meager acuity in the visual arts, but to understand message and framing. I’ll share these three cartoons with you, as well as the rough draft.

There would be no sound. There would be no clapping. Just the recognition that "non violent" action would call sane citizens of the state, to recognzie diversity in opinion, and not polarize around such distinctions.

I know it's hard walking the (A)middleway. Sometimes this "heartway for expression" has to have applications moved to the head for correct thinking, least we are circumvented to the childish antics of emotive reactions in the probable future.

The "child" is the future, and to continunally challenge our emotive constructs( these things well imprinted in our own realities) that we say we cannot change of what has already happened? We can certainly change, how we will react in the future by challening these perspectives. A Clear mind and consise thinking, to combat what is embedded, will have fortunate consequences, although, the struggle to implement such a strategy, must unfold in order to change how we see into that future.

I am "constantly fighting"( my own battle with self) to bring sane recognition out of the historical background and "relative phrases" to situations that might become the struggle of nations, if one had thought to extend it's appliciability to such lengths? It's not that you fight your parents, and all that has been encoded in you, or that you change the reactionary way( this is part of our psychological makeup) in which you will emotively react(a "positive anger" for change is possible), but that there is a third choice, and one in which a better logic would materialize? Held to political distinctions that we had all might revert too.

That the emotive forced garnered a better visulaization then, not to be lead, by illusions of the religious right or to default on the irreligiousness of the left(?).

Would I have just been as guilty here in that last statement?

Now we've arrived at the end of the century, where crime, moral chaos, and politics driven by the often hollow sophistications of sociology and psychology all alert us to the breakdown of too many previous assumptions, particularly the coming apart of what might be called our ethical agreements with one another. Late capitalism, in apparent triumph, seems to encourage self-interest over any lingering sense of a commonwealth.

Who then are the better nation builders? That to continue to perfect this war that rages within ourselves would take this to the political stage and make the war happen on a much wider and divisive scale?

So who then who would the better nation builders be? Those that seek the third choice and the choice that recognizes change is very fast and becoming. That there is no time standing, always new.

    As the Discussion continues

The point is that if any of you, "censored" like Peter likes too, then I would have thought the way they censored your comments Mark and Joanne, would have been felt an affrontation about getting to the heart of issues, "equally frustating" in other venues.

I recognize your efforts as well of doing "something" amidst such censorhips. Getting to the heart of issues against "flagrant attitudes" politicized, requires that we think twice about what some who contribute, and what cannot work to the advanges of clear thinking?

    A double edged sword? :)

Would one defend another of equal stature in regards to science who ID intelligent conversation as to express one's own agenda not deterrred as "negative way" to the right way? :)

I would rather focus on "nation building" as you have.

How has profound thinking been changed? I think the teachers are suppose to let us decide instead of them deciding for us. We are suppose to find our way as you lay correct infomration before us instead of packaging it, and saying ,this is wrong becuase I say so?

Maybe these are the failing attributes as parents, we assign to our children in those hidden meme's?:)

    Laughlin, Reductionism, Emergence

I am still operating from the idea of Xtra-Dimensions. What motivating force would have brought such a quantum gravity group together and the aspect it might have spoken from? What mysterious forces motivates all these ladies/ gentlemen?

Everyone knows that human societies organize themselves. But it is also true that nature organizes itself, and that the principles by which it does this is what modern science, and especially modern physics, is all about. The purpose of my talk today is to explain this idea.

Can I hardly leave this post written below in my linked coment without some further explanantion?

    Sean:
You have to be careful about words like “emergent,” because it has pre-existing connotations that may or may not be relevant to how the theory ends up actually working.

You know for me it became the quest to understand what the basis of reality was. So if one is given perspective to think about from different angles, then the very idea of a "emergent process unfolding from the quantum gravity regimes", then it would have been a truly ground breaking acknowledgement of what the basis of reality really is?

    Plato:
I would have thought the modifications to GR might have signalled some truth to what was emergent(although this would ask us what that quantum geometry is?) from a condense matter perspective, as Witten saids below.

I also heard Robert Laughlin say, it didn’t matter if you use bricks or sargeant majors?

I had trouble with this ,and looking at CFT on the horizon, it made me think of string as a fifth dimensional component within the blackhole. Is this wrong and misleading, not to have looked at the spacetime fabric a a graviton constituent since these modifications were made to GR?

My thoughts were developing in perspectve as I did my own research, so all of a sudden the basis of the views that I was capturing started to make sense. What were people doing with the very ideaas of this theory of everything?

    Witten:
One thing I can tell you, though, is that most string theorist’s suspect that spacetime is a emergent Phenomena in the language of condensed matter physics.

    The Elephant?

Now having given the poem there for Sean's introduction to Mind and the poetry, we are given a sense of what the historical issues plaguing the ideas of quantum gravity? Filled with the perplex of citizens of a town? To have the proverb, this hinduist portrayal, Sufi expressed, as a lessson in our attempts to understand. It was not me, who first used John Saxes poem in the Physics realms, so do you know who this was?

So now we have this condense matter approach to consider? I wonder how well it will do when people share perspective about "this approach" to have taken a strong stance against Robert Laughlin's theory of everything? Where are you Peter Woit? What is your way, that you should be so different from what Lubos is saying below?

    Lubos Motl:
All of us agree that some important features of physical phenomena do not depend on the details of underlying physics; many of these phenomena are emergent in character; it is not too important or useful to know quarks or strings in order to study most of the crucial concepts in biology, climate, physics of water, or quantum computing. If Laughlin thinks that other physicists do not realize this fact, then he is fighting a strawman. Most physicists realize these things - and many fundamental physicists actually use very similar mathematical techniques as Laughlin does in his "emergent" approach.

So is there a consensus on how the science of our day recogizes the work that is trying to make iself known, as the truth and the light of the way? What does the elephant represent?

    Robert Laughlin:
Likewise, if the very fabric of the Universe is in a quantum-critical state, then the "stuff" that underlies reality is totally irrelevant-it could be anything, says Laughlin. Even if the string theorists show that strings can give rise to the matter and natural laws we know, they won't have proved that strings are the answer-merely one of the infinite number of possible answers. It could as well be pool balls or Lego bricks or drunk sergeant majors.

How far in depth shall our abstract views look, as one uses the math to gaze into the "blackhole of oblivion" and wonder? What constitues the very nature from that very horizon. How shall Robert Laughlin speak on it? How shall he speak about the trigger?
