The Virtual Reality of the Ancients

Okay, here is a "fictional setting" about the lands one may venture too, and the landscapes, that speak to the hills and valleys, and "all that kind of stuff" where tunnelling can make itself known. A Place, where the genus figures lie.

Mount Olympus:View from Litochoro
In the Greek mythology, Mount Olympus is the home of the Olympians, the principal gods in the Greek pantheon. The Greeks thought of it as built with crystal mansions wherein the gods, such as Zeus, dwelt. It is also known in Greek mythology that when Gaia gave birth to the Vols they used the mountains in Greece as their thrones.

I am drawing attention to the way in which "ancient ideas" would now be represented. How one may create "this place as a virtual architecture room," created specifically for such meetings.

Elysium

In Greek mythology, Elysium (Greek: Ἠλύσια πεδία) was a section of the Underworld (the spelling Elysium is a Latinization of the Greek word Elysion). The Elysian fields, or sometimes Elysian plains, were the final resting place of the souls of the heroic and the virtuous. It is associated with the Christian Heaven.

Now, there are different places out there in the computer world, and Bloggeries seem to suit this purpose, and where such connections to this room, would be as if, "Skype had entered the room." It has brought people from their very own homes, as a technological expression and talk furthered in this medium. How nice.

But imagine, that such a room becomes the place in which information enters, and if it was considered "above the configuration space," then not only would this information allow direct connections to vast resources, but it would also allow the complexity of probabilistic outcomes to merge with events that can happen within this room?

Heaven

In the modern age of science and space flight the idea that Heaven is a physical place in the observable universe has largely been abandoned.[citation needed] Religious views, however, still hold Heaven as having a dual status as a concept of mind or heart, but also possibly still physically existing in some way on another "plane of existence", dimension, or perhaps at a future time.[citation needed] According to science there are unobservable areas of the universe (everywhere beyond earth's Particle horizon), although by their very nature it is not possible to observe them.

This room then becomes an expression, and by it's very nature, a cyclical version of what we can create, and what we create, comes from. Information then is about creativity and how we use "this energy" to connect with the real world.

  1. Hi Plato,

“The Greeks thought of it as built with crystal mansions wherein the gods, such as Zeus, dwelt.”

Well Plato this is not exactly what I had in mind, yet it sounds like a place one might like to visit once in a while:-) Kidding aside, when you speak of the realm you describe it as one of probabilities, while I speak of possibilities. Probability relates to chance while possibility relates to mind. As you may be aware I am with Einstein on this and would accept the latter and not the former.

  2. HI Plato,

As a follow up to what I said and to render evidence that some of the ancient Greeks thought the same I offer what Aristotle had to say in this regard.

“The end and the means towards it may come about by chance. We say, for instance, that a stranger has come by chance, paid the ransom, and gone away, when he does so as if he had come for that purpose, though it was not for that that he came. This is incidental, for chance is an incidental cause, as I remarked before. But when an event takes place always or for the most part, it is not incidental or by chance. In natural products the sequence is invariable, if there is no Impediment.”

Then he clarified further when he followed with:

"It is absurd to suppose that purpose is not present because we do not observe the agent deliberating. Art does not deliberate. If the ship-building art were in the wood, it would produce the same results by nature. If, therefore, purpose is present in art, it is present also in nature. The best illustration is a doctor doctoring himself: nature is like that. It is plain then that nature is a cause, a cause that operates for a purpose.”

    Best,

  3. Hi Phil,

Well Plato this is not exactly what I had in mind

I just wanted you to know what sparked this blog entry and what It got me thinking about.

    I had read this article called,"Strike 2.0."

Earlier this month came the launch of Union Island (slunionisland.org), a Second Life-based virtual environment specifically to help trade unionists and activists use social networking and virtual reality sites more effectively. The site shows activists how to create 3D characters, how to run better websites and even has a "virtual bar" where activists can swap practical tips or attend surgeries over a pint of virtual beer and (probably) virtual sandwiches.

And following up the software used I explored Second Life. I had similar ideas working in the back ground.

Second Life® is a 3-D virtual world created by its Residents. Since opening to the public in 2003, it has grown explosively and today is inhabited by millions of Residents from around the globe.

Now of course it got me thinking about the extension from the tips of our fingers too, the extension of what we are saying as expressed by our very own natures. What said that one could not coordinate such a space, and in this room, contained the possibilities, and outside of it, the probabilities?

It also had been on my mind on what the ancients had done in terms of their cultures and myths.

High mountain spots are a strange way for the soul reaching for a connection to that higher principle, and some would, and might have said, that such an example had been shown for the idea behind fifth dimensional entry into the possibilities?

You had to define this relationship outside the room, and at the same time, allowed for the entrance of the information to make it's way into this possibility.

So what do you have in mind, now that you mention it? I hope I have made the proper corrections and clarified further?

    Best,
